The platform has four ways to group people. They look alike but do different jobs: two of them are shared accounts that own things, one is a sharing list, and one is a competition team.

In short:

• Use an organization or department when a group needs its own labs, storage and limits that outlive any one member.
• Use a workgroup when you just want to share your labs or templates with the same people again and again.
• Clans are for competing together — see Clans and clubs.

How an organization account works

An organization is a separate account that several people operate. When you switch to it, anything you create — a lab, a domain, a device — belongs to the organization, counts against its limits, and stays with it if you leave.

Members get access to the labs the organization owns, and share one home storage area.
