Clans and clubs
The platform has two kinds of group, and they do different jobs:
| Clan | Club | |
|---|---|---|
| For | Competing as a team | Talking about a subject |
| Used in | Team challenge labs, team events, the clan leaderboard | Discussions |
| How many | One at a time | Several |
| Size | Up to 10 members | Grows with the club's tier |
| Find it in the sidebar | Clan Hall | Discuss → Clubs |
Clans
A clan is your team for capture-the-flag. You need one to deploy team challenge labs and to enter team events.
Join a clan
Open Clan Hall in the sidebar. If you are not in a clan yet you will see Join Clan and Create Clan.
There are two ways in:
- Ask to join. Browse All clans, open one, and click Join Clan. The button changes to Request Sent until a clan admin accepts or denies you. A clan showing Not Accepting Requests has closed its door for now.
- Accept an invite. Invitations appear on the Invites tab. Click Accept Invite or Deny Invite.
You can belong to one clan at a time, and a clan holds at most 10 members.
Create a clan
Click Create Clan and fill in:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Clan Name | The display name |
| Clan Username | The clan's unique handle — used in its web address. Not your own username. |
| Country | |
| Motto and Description | Shown on the clan page |
| Clan Avatar | Square image |
| Clan Banner | Wide image |
The form shows the allowed length for each text field and the size for each image. Both images are required. You become the clan's owner.

The clan page
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Team size, total Zeal, achievements, challenges conquered and your team labs. Private to the clan. |
| Events | Events the clan has entered |
| Activity | What members have been doing |
| Members | Who is in the clan, and their roles |
| Achievements | Badges the clan has earned |
| Discussions | A chat for the clan |
| Requests | Pending join requests — admins only |
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything an admin can, plus invite people (Invite User), switch Accept Join Requests on or off, remove or demote other admins, and delete the clan. The person who created the clan. |
| Admin | Edit the clan's details, accept or deny join requests, remove members, promote members to admin, and register the clan for events |
| Member | Play the clan's team labs, chat, and leave the clan |
The owner can delete the clan but not leave it. Any other member can leave at any time — unless the clan is locked for an event, below.
Clans during events
When a clan registers for a team event, its roster is locked for that event (or the whole series of rounds) until it ends. You cannot take the clan above the event's maximum size or below its minimum, and the clan cannot be deleted. The message you get says when the lock lifts. See Events.
The clan leaderboard
Clan Hall → Clan Leaderboard ranks clans by the Zeal they have earned, with ties going to the clan that spent less time. It shows each clan's members, Zeal, challenges conquered, achievements and time spent.
Clubs
A club is a community around a subject — a language, a tool, a course. Members share questions and discussions into the club, and the club page collects them.
Open Discuss → Clubs in the sidebar. If you do not see it, your platform does not have clubs switched on.
Find and join a club
The Clubs page lists All clubs and My Clubs, with search, featured and recommended clubs, and trending tags.
| Visibility | How you get in |
|---|---|
| Public | Anyone can find it and click Join Club |
| Invite-only | Listed, but you need an invitation — Accept & Join or Decline it on the club page |
| Private | Hidden from the list; members only |
Inside a club
The club page is a feed of the questions and discussions shared into it, with the tabs Recent, Popular, Unanswered and Featured, and a members panel. Owners and moderators can pin posts to the top.
To post, ask a question in Discussion and choose the club under Also share in, or click Ask on the club page, which picks the club for you. A question shared into several clubs appears in all of them.
Create a club
Click Create Club. Creating a club spends Jolt and needs a minimum amount of Zeal — the Create page shows both, and whether you have enough. You can own up to five clubs, unless your platform sets a different limit.
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Club picture | Optional. JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 2 MB |
| Name | Also used to make the club's web address |
| Description | |
| Tags | Used for search and filtering |
| Visibility | Public, Invite-only or Private |
You become the club's owner.
Running a club
Owners and moderators open the club's settings:
| Section | Does |
|---|---|
| General | Picture, name, description, visibility, and Archive Club |
| Permissions | Who can post — everyone, moderators and admins, or admins only |
| Members | Search members, change a member's role, remove members |
| Pinned Posts | Choose the posts pinned to the top |
| Edit History | Every change made to the club's settings |
Roles are Owner, Mod and Member. The owner can invite, promote and transfer ownership.
Archiving takes the club out of the directory. Its posts and conversations are kept.
Club tiers
Clubs grow through five tiers:
Seed → Sprout → Grove → Forest → Biome
Each tier raises the number of members a club can hold. Promotion is decided by the platform, based on the club's size and the quality of its activity — owners cannot upgrade their own club. The club page shows the current tier and what the next one needs.
