Spot Quiz
Spot Quiz gives you short, five-question multiple-choice quizzes on technical topics — Linux command line, cybersecurity, Git, C, Python, networks, DevOps, cryptography, machine learning, data structures and many more. Each topic has subtopics, and each subtopic has many quizzes.
By the end of this page you will know how to get a quiz, how rewards work, and what the game modes are.
Open it from Evaluate → Spot Quiz in the sidebar.
1. Pick a topic
The Spot Quiz home page lists every topic. Open one and use the tabs:

You can play any quiz someone else has generated — open it from Recent or Trending.
2. Generate a quiz
To get a fresh quiz of your own, pick a difficulty — Easy, Normal or Hard — and click Spot Quiz on a subtopic. The AI writes a new five-question quiz, which takes a minute or two. You are notified when it is ready.

The confirmation dialog shows the Jolt cost, your balance and what you will have left. Jolt is taken only if the quiz is generated successfully — if generation fails you keep it. See Zeal and Jolt for current costs.

Some quizzes are made from lessons, roadmaps and syllabi you are studying. Find them under Self Evaluation on the Spot Quiz home page.
3. Play
The quiz page shows the difficulty, the rewards available, and a timer. Click Begin Quiz.
- Questions come one at a time, in order. Choose an answer and click Submit Answer.
- You cannot go back or change an answer once submitted.
- After each answer you are told whether it was right or wrong, and the progress dots update. The correct option is not revealed.
- At the end you see Quiz Completed! with your score out of 5.
The countdown shows how you are doing against the quiz's suggested time. Finishing late does not cost you the reward.
4. How rewards work
- All five right, first time. You earn the quiz's Zeal and Jolt only if you answer every question correctly on your first complete run.
- One wrong answer and the run ends without rewards. The quiz is still marked completed.
- Once per quiz. A quiz pays you at most once.
- Restarting is free and unlimited — but pays nothing. Click Restart Quiz to practise the same questions as many times as you like.
The Zeal you earn counts towards your league.
Game modes
Game modes string several quizzes together into one longer run. You pay an entry fee in Jolt to start, and the fee is not refunded if you fail. Easy lowers both the fee and the reward; Hard raises both. The mode's card shows the exact fee and reward before you start.

How game modes are run:
- The time limit is enforced. When it runs out the session ends with "Time's up! Game session expired".
- Lives are enforced. In most modes one wrong answer ends the run.
- Questions are drawn at random and shuffled. Every mode except Tech Master uses only quizzes you have not played yet.
- Each perfect set of five pays. A bonus is added only if every set in the run was perfect.
Reporting a bad question
If a question is wrong, click Report Issues on the quiz and tick what applies:
- Inaccurate Questions/Answers
- Missing Options
- Improper Formatting
- Code Readability / Indentation
- Spelling / Grammar
Reports go to the platform's moderators, who can remove a quiz. There is a daily limit on how many quizzes you can report.
Reporting a question in the middle of a game mode costs a small Jolt fee and ends the session. The entry fee is not refunded.
Leaderboards
- The Quiz Leaderboard (Mastery Hall → Quiz Leaderboard) ranks everyone by Zeal earned from quizzes, then by quizzes completed.
- Each topic has its own Leaderboard tab.
